Massage Therapy - What to expect at your next appointment . . .

Welcome! Thank you for choosing Simple Escape for your massage therapy provider. Here we will give you an overview of your session, especially for first time professional massage recipients, to help you fully enjoy and benefit from your bodywork.

Scheduling

your appointment is easy and can be done by calling the office or your therapist on her direct number.

First time clients

upon entering our tranquil facility, are asked to complete and sign a brief intake form, taking only a couple minutes. Arriving a few minutes early to your first appointment is often a good idea. After discussing your expectations with your therapist you will be shown to one of our two treatment rooms. With soothing music, controlled temperatures, candles, and soft lighting it is easy to let the unwinding process begin.

Before your massage

the therapist will exit the room and give you time to disrobe. The massage table is centered in the treatment room and made up with fresh clean linens. It is the clients option to start on the table lying prone or supine (face down or face up), completely draped under the top sheet. After knocking, the therapist will re-enter and begin your massage.

During your massage

you are completely covered and only the area of the body receiving the bodywork is exposed. Your therapist relies on your feedback so pressure can be adjusted to your liking. To enjoy the full benefits of your session it is best to “let go” as much as possible. There are two great ways to ensure the deepest stages of relaxation. The first is to tune out your worries and focus on your massage. The second, but just as important, is to maintain deep breathing, full inhalations and slow exhalations throughout your massage. At the end of your session, the therapist will inform you that she is leaving the room and that you can take a moment before dressing and joining her in the waiting area. You can then book your next session if you choose.

After your massage

it is important to hydrate well. Due to an increase in the flow of oxygen, as a result of your massage, metabolic waste is released from muscle tissue. Drinking plenty of water flushes these toxins from your body. Without this, toxins can be reabsorbed by the muscles and in some cases can lead to soreness. Drinking water CAN help avoid this. Enjoy a sense of well-being, renewed energy, and a good stretch.
